I hope y’all had a fantastic day today!
Thank you for contributing to the conversations regarding healthy eats and social awkwardness! Haha, I didn’t quite know that it was such a common issue for so many of us! Well, at least in the blogosphere that is… Yay! Say it with me. I’m not alone…I’m not alone…
“Uhhh Ellie, why is your post title stinky feet? Do you have a sweat problem?”
“I’m glad you asked! No, that’s just the name that Greg gave to THIS thing right here.”
I’m sort of a natural herb nut, I admit. And lately I’ve been waking up very early for some unknown reason. Today I realized that my body was completely out of balance because I felt as if I were on the verge of passing out while driving!
Of course, it wasn’t too pleasant and I just asked God to touch my body at the moment, and a while later I began to “recover”. Thank you Lord!
Greg is so sweet! Or perhaps he just wanted to torture me! Whatever his sweet motive was, he got me the Valerian Root because this herb helps you sleep better supposedly. I think I’ve been sleeping alright, I just have been doing an extensive amount of school work and trying to adjust to my new schedule.
This morning I woke up at the crack of dawn because I was supposed to work with my student Cameron (I mentioned once that he’s a sweet sweet boy who’s autistic). But when I was about ready to go his mom called in to say that he’s running with a high fever yet again! Poor guy…
I think his immune system is just really weak and needs to fully recover. Fortunately, I got to see him in the afternoon while tutoring his brother in Spanish.
Cameron says HI!!!
Yesterday I rewarded him for being such a good student with these fascinating window crayons! Good thing his mom didn’t mind cleaning the windows *ahem*.
He LOVES posing for photos!
Going back to Stinky Feet–let me tell you though, this herb STAAANKKKSSS!! You have been warned… Eeeeeekkk it smells just like stinky feet; as a result, Greg coined that term and maybe someday it’ll be famous. Baahaha!
So my goal is to get to bed early tonight and take Stinky Feet.
Here are some things that I’ve been enjoying lately and the best thing is that I got a good bargain for most of them. ^_~ Who doesn’t like that eh?
Greek yogurt has been helping my digestion as well as keeping me full. This one had blueberry “jelly” and that was too sweet so I nixed the blueberries.
This is how elegant my food is when I’m in a hurry–I just take the last bits of the tub and throw in brown rice crispies, nuts, and fruit. An ideal way to get a good source of carbs, protein, and healthy fats. It’s a great way to pack a snack when you’re on the run, don’t you agree?
Say no more. This flavor is so good! And just like Tina I’m enjoying the different flavors, but I think she beat me in this game Just check out her stash.
This bar is very new to me and is very good! It’s filled with nut butters and dried fruit. I believe it’s a cross-over between a Larabar and a fruit strip. It’s just–GREAT STUFF!! As you can see, I eat in my car more than I probably should…which explains the questionable odors that are forming in there.
Don’t worry, these aren’t the only things that I eat throughout the day, but I sure do enjoy them!
I feel like I’ve been talking so much hehe. Aside from these things, I have so many thoughts that I’d love to share! Thoughts that have been on my heart through the week~But there’s plenty of time to internalize them and share them when the time is right.
There IS this one verse on my mind right now as I type:
“In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O Lord, make me to dwell in safety.” -Psalm 4:8-
It’s such a comforting statement that King David declared to God. I know it wasn’t just physical sleep that he needed during those times, but he also needed rest in his heart. The turmoil he was facing at the moment was just too overwhelming for him to bear I’m sure. His faith in God was so great however, and that’s why He called him a man after His own heart. Wow. I feel like that’s such an honor coming from the King of Kings.
Have a blessed night and day–knowing that there’s always someone who hears you, and is ready to comfort you with wide open arms…
Grace & Peace!
