Top o’the mornin’ to ya! It’s actually the afternoon, but you know what I mean.
Thank you so much for all the wonderful feedback on my last post in regards to how our thinking affects our actions. It is a blessing to see so many of us striving–no, make that “moving” towards a positive lifestyle.
So can I say “holy moly canoly”?!
(You have been warned, this post is cheesy because that’s what I am….I’m cheesy and I can’t help it.)
I’m not going to say that I’ve “jumped on the bandwagon”, per say. However, I gave Kombucha a try the other day for the first time.
And the verdict, you ask? It was amazing!!
Kombucha is totally different from what I had expected. I expected it to be super smooth and just plain tea-like. What I got from this bottle is an addictive, bubbly, and sharp taste that definitely cleanses the palate.
The reason that it feels bubbly is that it’s fermented tea. How they do that, I have no idea.
But I’m on a quest to figure that out.
Not to mention, it’s only 30 calories for a good 8 oz. and it doesn’t contain any unnatural sweeteners. This “modern elixir” boasts easy digestion, energy, detoxification, plus more. The fear of becoming hooked on it was the reason that I never wanted to try it, but I couldn’t help it because Sprouts Farmer’s Market was having a lot of sale items that day!
I also purchased the best yogurt that I have ever tried in my whole entire life! It’s called Liberte Mediterranean.
It’s creamier than cake frosting, and the hint of lemon makes the taste buds tingle.
Haha okay I’m done raving about these products, or you might start thinking that I’m trying to do a sales-pitch here.
I also have a cheesy way of eating things around here lately. That is, vegan-ish cheesy dressing style.
Vegan Garlic Cheese
Ingredients:
1 C raw cashews
1/4 C water
1/4 C almond milk
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp mustard powder (or plain mustard)
1/2 TBSP nutritional yeast
1/4 tsp garlic powder (very important)
1/2 tsp vinegar (or 1 tsp lemon juice)
Directions:
Add all the ingredients into the food processor and whirl it away. You will end up with an extremely creamy and flavorful mixture. Enjoy! This makes about 1.5-2 cups.
It tastes great in salads, pita pockets, coupled with pita chips, or in sandwiches as an alternative to regular spreads.
Here are some of the things I’ve been enjoying for breakfast, and I just realized most of them contain some sort of cheese! Heh!
What you see is oatmeal with ricotta (this makes the most chewy and fluffy oatmeal ever), coconut flour pancakes that I adapted from this website, and all natural muffins topped with my banana almond butter and coconut cream, with cottage cheese on the side.
For the coconut cream you just mix coconut flour and milk.
Well, I hope that you have a day full of blessings and peace! Like I always mention, let’s live and love today like there is no tomorrow.
By the way, Daniel says hi…
Isn’t he the cutest nephew in the world?! *I guess I’m speaking to myself*
I’ve also been hooked on this refreshing and adorable song!
Have you tried any of these products? What are your opinions?
Complete this sentence: “I’ve been hooked on….”
Love,
Ellie <33
