Some Wedding Detail Decisions [Check]!

Hi guys!  I’m glad you enjoyed learning about Tina in the last post!  Isn’t she a pretty crazy inspiration?  That may actually be an understatement.

Finally.  Finally!!!!!

On Friday afternoon, Greg and I finalized our wedding venue deposit.

Have you guessed which venue we decided to go with?

• Kindred Church
• The Franciscan Gardens
• Long Beach Museum of the Arts
• Menifee-Lakes Country Club

We chose the Menifee-Lakes Country Club, indeed!  If you couldn’t tell from that post just how ecstatic and happy I was, then let me tell you now that I am so grateful and relieved that God provided with the venue.  Do I hear “phews” out there?   Oh, maybe that’s just my “phew”.

So conclusively, we went with Menifee due to the amazing and affordable price, and you truly get your bang for the buck with this place.  For a great buffet menu plus the rental fee of both the ceremony and reception, you pay less than $10,000.

I know that may seem like a hefty price to pay, but for an outdoor ceremony this isn’t bad at all.  For an outdoor wedding with so many amenities, it’s nearly impossible to pay so “little” here in Cali.  After all, everything is more expensive in these parts of the U.S.

My friends (and bridesmaid+MOH) and I went on a bridal gown hunt on Saturday.   We were originally going to hit up two stores.

However, last minute I found out that one of the stores’ gowns started at the price of $1,000.  Of course, I wasn’t too impressed with that factor because my budget was originally $800 or less.

We ended up at David’s Bridal, and the whole experience was just so amazing!  Not only did I find “THE DRESS” at DB, but the gal helping me there was just the most helpful and sweetest assistant ever.  I find it to be very important for the bride to be comfortable with the sales associates, because it makes the fitting and dressing experience just that much easier and enjoyable.

Now…like I mentioned before, I’m not going to post the photo of the actual dress, but here are some I got to try on!

I promise I wasn’t mad/sad wearing this one.  I think I was just pensive!

This dress was the one that Lorae (sales associate) suggested for me to try, and we all fell in love with it!  I really thought that this was going to be the one I would choose.

I have always liked simple yet elegant bridal dresses, and this definitely fit those qualities.

However, there was still a “but” about this dress, and there was another one that was $400 off $1300.  This particular dress was surprisingly not my usual taste at all!  It’s a Vera Wang dress, and yes I feel so totally spoiled.  I truly do not care about the designer, as long as the dress is pretty and comfortable.  Surprisingly, this one really exceeded my former hopes and expectations.

When I wore this gown, I literally felt like a romantic+elegant girl running through a field of beautiful flowers.  Hah!  But then again, I always think of images like that because I’m such a dreamer.

All I can say is, what a blessing to even have this and experience it all.

Finding a dress on the second week is quite bittersweet because most brides would like to prolong and savor that dress fitting experience.  But I say, if you find one that is flattering, affordable, and on SALE, go for it.

I highly suggest and recommend David’s Bridal if you want to purchase an affordable and breath-taking dress because of their eclectic selection.
