Happy Wednesday my friends! How is this beautiful day treating y’all?
Oh, and for those of you living in the other hemisphere…Happy Thursday?
I seriously cannot thank you all enough for your responses and feedback on my job interview! I know that I did my best and everything will pan out the way it is supposed to. Furthermore, there are some highly anticipated changes coming along for me and Greg in the very near future (besides the wedding).
I’m going to make this quick as Greg and I are driving half-way to Arizona to meet his mom. Russell (G’s dad) gave her a getaway trip gift for her and her best friend, so we are pretty excited to go and meet up with them! We will also be celebrating her birthday a few days early.
As soon as I opened my eyes this morning, my stomach was making that ominous grumbling noise that it so often makes. To be quite honest, I don’t know where or whom I got my appetite from!
The beloved protein pancakes studded with bananas, sprinkled with coconut, some cinnamon PB, and honey
Although I enjoyed them a lot, they didn’t fill me up as much as usual. I think that the different protein powders I use make a difference. As of now, I am using Boku protein powder because it’s all-natural, but I’m still on the lookout for other great choices.
Lunch time rolled around and as I was looking through my bridal shower list that Susan wanted to confirm with me, I quickly heated up my leftover bowl of Chipotle from last night.
I was kind of ravenous by this time, so while I microwaved this bowl I ate a bunch of it cold on the side. I always seem to eat cold food beforehand to stave off the hunger.
Topped with havarti cheese, avocado, Chobani plain yogurt, and a side of brussel sprouts.
Jenny’s recent post on working out was very inspiring for me today. I’ve been thinking that I should do ‘calmer’ routines more often, such as yoga.
On her post, Jenny mentioned that she likes to feel poised, graceful, and serene when she works out….whereas I prefer to feel strong, powerful and sweaty! In other words, I prefer to torture myself in my workouts. Hah!

But there are days when I want to feel elongated and poised as well, like today. I really felt like Jenny read my mind because I’ve been meaning to do Rodney Yee’s Yoga Burn.
Oh how I’ve missed you, yoga! In addition, I’m trying to take it easy today because my feet are pretty tired from running. At least, I believe it is from running because I have incredibly flat feet. So much so that I wear customized insoles half of the time.
So I will be doing a portion of the DVD sequence before I head out–at least just enough to get my muscles warmed up.
I was wary of the slow pace of this sequence at first, but it really gets me worked up! I think that the slow movements help me to become more conscious of my body.
Do you have flat feet too? Do you feel like it contributes to other problems?
Are you a ‘poised’ or ‘sweaty’ exerciser, if you work out?
What protein powder/s do you recommend?
Grace & Peace,
Ellie <33

I feel like the more I workout… The sweatier I get. I use to not sweat that much, but now… It’s kind of gross. LOL
Your pancakes look super delicious!
Hmmm I think I know what you mean Thao! I’ve always sweated a good amount, but now I feel like I sweat even more~but I really don’t mind it! haha. I feel “cleaner” when I do b/c it feels like the toxins just escaped through my pores
I actually recently found out that I over pronate when I walk/run. I was experiencing some really strange foot pains and by investing in a proper pair of running shoes the pain has almost completely gone away.
oh woww I’ll definitely do research on that and think about it! Thanks for the input. I hear great running shoes make the happiest feet
Ooo! I can’t wait to hear about the exciting news!
And I think I’m a combination of both. Sometimes I loooveee me some calming yoga, but other times I want to do something crazy intense to get the best sweat I possibly can! Either way, I love to be moving
well we will see Brittany! xD Keep us in prayer as you remember us~ <3
And I'm more on the sweaty side like you, but calming is also soooo amazing. Balance is all we need!
I am all about the crazy sweaty exercise; however, I am trying to do yoga at least once a week. I definitely need to add more “calming” activities to my life! I am not a great sleeper, so I feel like this could also help that, too!
I have crazy odd feet. I have about a million blisters, super strange arches, etc. Basically, I run to beat my feet into submission. It is working so far…
lol your comment made me laugh Sally Anne! I didn’t know you were a runner
jkjk, as your title has the word ‘runner’ in it.
Haha! That comic is hilarious!
I love that you eat cold food too – I am the queen of standing with the fridge door open while eating whatever leftover item I see.
The protein powder I use most is Sun Warrior, but it was DEFINITELY an acquired taste. I also buy the single serving packets from Whole foods or get free samples from my local nutrition store – it’s a great way to try before you spend a ton of $$$.
you know how many times I hear my mom say, “you’re wasting electricity close the door!”
How interesting that you say S.W. is an acquired taste. I wonder if it’s similar to boku~kinda gritty and brown rice-ish taste, and not that sweet?
I always wake up starving too – but I think it’s a good thing, because eating breakfast is so important!
I recommend pea protein powder, and I get it from True Nutrition. I use it because I am vegan, but I can’t recommend it enough for its solid nutritional profile and its great mixability. I haven’t had the opportunity to bake with it, yet, but it mixes really well in cold liquids.
Accoding to True Nutrition: “Gemma Protein Isolate Powder is extremely high in Leucine, Arginine, and Glutamine, along with a balanced amino profile. It is clean tasting for a Pea Protein, and mixes extremely smoothly with a lighter texture than Whey powders. Gemma Protein Isolate is derived and isolated from peas and its natural protein fraction, which possesses a low level of denaturing and is very soluable (mixes very well). Gemma is NON-GMO, low allergenic and gluten free.”
It’s also really cheap!!
Ohh thanks for the recommendation!! I do hear lots of great things about pea protein.
sunwarrior is my favorite protein powder because it is sprouted brown rice, minimally processed.
thanks for the link up to the ballet body post! i’m going to check out some of those videos that she linked too. i’ve been getting lazy on my workouts b/c i’m sooo tired and busy these days, but i need to get back on track.
