Cooking for Two

Happy Wednesday!  Is it just me or does each week seem to zoom by faster than the previous?

Due to my recent marriage, I’ve been cooking for both Greg and myself quite often.  Primarily because we want to save moolah, but overall, I’m just enjoying this fun aspect of being married.

Granted, it’s been a challenge trying to budget and keep things within our budget (especially when it comes to food)–but I’m glad to report that the first week has been good! (Thus far) :D

His

This is just a simple example of how we’ve been eating whenever we have time in the mornings. ;)   Greg loves bacon, whereas for me, I’ve never even thought of having it for breakfast.  I made sure to satisfy his bacon cravings with turkey bacon and he actually loves the stuff!  He also loves french toast, so I’ve been making that here and there as well.

Hers

For me, these dishes (along with oatmeal) are pretty much the norm.  But can you spot the difference in this plate in contrast to my breakfasts on my single days?

Yup, turkey bacon!  I wanted to give it a try and I’ve grown to like the taste.  Who knew?

Another thing that I love about being married is that we get to do devotionals together every morning.  We get to pray and read the Word of God in order to start our day with a Christ-centered mindset.

There have been days when we missed that time altogether, but triumphs and failures are what keep us growing closer to God and to each other.   We believe that it is vital in every marriage to spend quality time on a level that’s deeper than just the mere surface.  Having deep talks and times of reflection is invaluable when it comes to a fulfilling marriage–or so we’ve been told–therefore, we want to follow in the footsteps of those who are far more experienced than we are. :D

Fitness

In regards to working out, I’ve been going to the gym about 2-3 times a week, or whenever I can.  On the days when I can afford only about 15-20 minutes of exercise, I’ve been falling back on good ol’ Leah Sarago’s Ballet videos. :)

This is a circuit that I did twice while we were on our honeymoon at the Sheraton’s gym.  Hope you like it as much as I did!

***Weights and cardio should be adjusted according to fitness level.***

Pump and Cardio Workout Wipeout

1)  Burpees with push-ups–  12 reps

2)  Walking lunges with weights–  14 reps    (20 lbs. each hand)

3)  Sprint on the treadmill–  Level 5.5, Speed 8.0  (2 minutes)

4)  Bicep curls on inclined bench–  12 reps    (10 lbs. each hand)

5)  Deadlifts–  14 reps    (40 lbs.)

5)  Sprint on the treadmill–  Level 5.5, Speed 8.0  (2 minutes)

Perform this circuit for a total of 3 times and then gag!  Or you may adjust the circuit to your preference.

Well, I hope you have a blessed rest of the day!  And although posting has been a bit more sporadic here, I’ll be back soon with more.

Picture my friends took :)

My friend’s Instagram! Amazing, right?!

Love,

Ellie <33

Beautiful pictures! Congrats on your wedding :)

My hubby is a bacon lover too… I think he could eat it for every single meal.

ahhhh so gorgeous lady!! I cant wait to see more!! :) :)
And let me just say, if there is a 99cent store around you HIT THAT PLACE UP!! They have almost everything. I get my canned goods there, cleaning products, paper products, and sometimes find great foodie scores. You just have to be consistent. Thats how I save us money! But Im a huge cheapo lol
LOVE the workout too!!

Oh, the photo of your first dance is stunning!

I’ve never seen turkey bacon in Australia. Actually, turkey only ever really shows up for Christmas, in the form of the whole bird!
